The Watson-Brown Foundation Junior Board has awarded the Augusta Library a preservation grant of $5,750 toward restoration of the auxiliary building at Appleby Branch Library. The Summerville Neighborhood Association and the Friends of Augusta Library are also providing funds for this project. The Appleby Library was constructed as a private home in 1830; the auxiliary building may have been the original kitchen. The board from the Watson-Brown Foundation will be making a presentation for the award on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Appleby Library, 2260 Walton Way.
